pDAI ROI

pDAI ROI

Five tokens, one starting point — each return shows what $1 invested on 16 May 2023 is worth now.

pDAI is DAI's fork copy: when PulseChain cloned Ethereum's state in May 2023, DAI's contract and every balance came with it, but nothing on PulseChain holds the copy to a dollar. Here it runs against the chain's own coin, WPLS, and HEX, PLSX and INC, which have all traded since the chain's first day. Every line starts at the same close — 16 May 2023, day 0, 1× — so the only thing being compared is what $1 in each that day would be worth now.

How these numbers were made Show
  • Prices are reconstructed from AMM reserves, the same way as on the HEX page. For every UTC day, each token's PulseX pools against WPLS — V1 and V2 — are read with getReserves() at that day's last block on an archive node, and the deeper pool wins the day. WPLS itself is priced from PulseX's bridged WPLS/USDC and WPLS/DAI pools at that same block, and every other token converts through it.
  • pDAI is the copy, not the coin. PulseChain forked Ethereum's state on 13 May 2023, so DAI's contract and every balance reappeared at DAI's own address, 0x6B17…1d0F. Nothing on PulseChain holds that copy to a dollar — it opened at a quarter of a cent and has traded freely since — which is also why it never prices anything here: a pool that took it for a dollar would value PLS hundreds of times too high. Only bridged stablecoins set the PLS/USD quote.
  • Every line starts at the same close. All five tokens traded from PulseChain's first day, but there was no bridged stablecoin pool to express a dollar price until 16 May 2023 — the same reason HEX on PulseChain starts there on the HEX page. So day 0 is one block, 17,282,328, for all five, and each line shows what $1 put into that token at that close is worth now.
  • pDAI's day 0 is its most fragile number, and it is left alone. At that close its only pool held about $174k, against $1.9M for INC, $2.1M for HEX and $95M for PLSX. Every token fell hard the next day — WPLS by 55% — but pDAI fell furthest, 93%, to $0.000173, so its return is the one most sensitive to where day 0 sits: anchored a day later, every pDAI return on this page would read 14 times higher.
  • “pDAI vs” divides one return by the other. 10× against a token means $1 put into pDAI at day 0 is now worth ten times $1 put into that token; below 1×, that token has done better.
  • It agrees with an independent source. Compared day by day against DefiLlama's feed, the reconstructed series track at median ratios of 1.001 for pDAI across 867 overlapping days, 1.000 for WPLS across 1,114, 1.001 for PLSX across 1,127 and 1.001 for INC across 894. DefiLlama only starts pricing pDAI in April 2024 and INC in January 2024, so their earlier months rest on the chain alone.
